Task 6. Instagram / Pixlr
Once I download these apps, I will definetely have a play. I am sure I will have fun with these.
I will post up photos once I get a chance
Task 5. Flikr and Picasa.
Well I can't download on my PC or they are only available as an app.
So I will have to do that later and have a play.
I love taking photos and editing them, and am known to share them on facebook. So I am sure that I will have fun playing with the apps :)
I'm sure I will be back to update and add some photos on here when I get the chance.

Task 4. Google Maps & Google Drive
Google Maps
I do use google maps. Such a useful and convenient tool. Either on PC or Ipad/phone devices. Having the ability to see street maps or satellite (though I don't know how up to date the photos from the satellite is, because the picture of my house was very old) but still cool that I can look at a picture.
I use it to look up directions and places in which I am going. I have used it in looking up hotels etc. to see its location and distance to landmarks eg. beach, restaurants.
It's great, it gives options on routes, modes of transport and estimated times and is also printable, shared, and on certain devices you have the option of a voice instructing you as you are on your way (I have used this while driving which is great)
Google Drive
Allows you to upload photos, videos, documents, and other files that are important to you to Google Drive. Get going with up to 15GB of storage. Free.
I think it's great that because its stored virtually/cloud. It means that I am able to create documents etc. and access it at anytime from different devices (without having to save and use usb's or the like or email to be able to access). I think it's great!!
I have had a play, but there is still more I would like to explore, I think there are things like notes and reminders that could really be useful. And there are so many apps! I will definetely have to look into these things.
Loving that things can be stored, used and centralised by having a google account (email, blogs, news, maps, youTube, documents, reminders...... :)
Wish I had explored these features a lot earlier.

Task 3 : Google Everything
Where would we be without google???
It has changed the way we live, we google everything..... restaurants, locations, reviews, how to's, anything.
I have been using google for a while, I have used google maps, YouTube. I did have a google account (+gmail) but never used it or took advantage of all the features. I used to have an android phone (before my iPhone) and needed to have a google account for this and YouTube etc. I am glad that I have taken the time to have a play and look at the features, as a lot of companies get bought out and consolidated. I guess having an account that links them all together is good. I hadn't used google translate, that was fun translating Tongan, that actually translated accurately :)
I have also started to subscribe to blogs (apart from facebook, I have never looked at blogs) and its great to get feeds to these pages. So many pages with interesting and new ideas and info.

Task 2. Lifelong Learning
I googled Lifelong learning.
According to Wikipedia (and we all know how reliable it is lol) Lifelong learning is the "ongoing, voluntary, and self-motivated"[1] pursuit of knowledge for either personal or professional reasons. Therefore, it not only enhances social inclusion, active citizenship, and personal development, but also self-sustainability, rather than competitiveness and employability.
Which reminded me that learning doesn't always have to be in an academic setting to be valid or useful. We learn daily, and through many sources and it is ongoing.
The internet is a great source of information and it is these days our first point of research. Looking for a new chocolate cake recipe, DIY ideas, health remedies, fashion ideas, definitions, information, facts, news......
I also looked through the websites Mashable.com and readwriteweb.com
I had never heard of either of these sites. Quite a lot of information on the latest technologies and updates. Might need more time to look through them but probably would go when I had a specific topic of interest to search. Just like the internet there is a lot of information out there. I don't always have spare time to surf the net. So usually only look up things that are specific to a need, unless on pinterest, well that is another story lol.
The internet, technology, gadgets and apps are here, I may not always have the latest and greatest but I appreciate how they have changed how people live their lives. Especially with social media, the ability to do things, post things, search things on the go.
